Kelaniya Flyover is located at the Colombo - Kandy road and it has been built across the Peliyagoda railway crosing. The project was completed in 60 days setting a world record.

Project Objectives

The Peliyagoda railway crossing is closed cumulatively eight hours a day, and there are about 75,000 vehicles travel along the railway crossing. This makes a huge traffic congestion in the Colombo - Kandy road. The purpose of construction of this fly-over is to eliminate the traffic delay at the Peliyagoda railway crossing.
